The detail work makes it visceral: the blood in the mouth, the frogs, the echo of voices both real and imagined.
And yet, under the terror, there’s also that thread of community - the friends, the teasing, the hand reaching down at the very end. It makes the story sit right at that border between folklore and lived memory, where survival is always tied to others. Great work!
